Organization is both an art and a science, and I offer a bit of a secret to using science to bring people (be they animal, vegetable, mineral, or whatever else) together in a productive way. This secret involves both a children’s game (not marbles this time!) and the location of every single particle in the universe.

Or, How to Raise a Superhero, Not a Supervillan! Whether you are a mom or a dad, a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, teacher, or any other individual in that proverbial village where a child is raised, I offer a short (relatively!) “everything you need to know” overview of what it takes to nurture a child of any sort of intelligence to be successful in all the most important ways.

This episode is dedicated to Sue Klebold, who’s been on my mind, and in my heart, quite a bit lately.

I offer you three points for each of the basic elements of your approach, starting with creating and sharing your clear intention to raise this child to get to the end of their life having generally felt like they lived in an environment that supported them being able to discover, and invest their lives in, their greatest dreams for what they most want to explore and create in and for their world. Then I go on to give the three basic processes for how to achieve this goal as effectively as possible.

Basically, it boils down to taking good care of oneself, then focusing on identifying and providing a broad range of options for this child to choose from that reflect the absolute highest quality physical, emotional, intellectual, and philosophical things that your world can offer them, and then giving them the respect and freedom to choose for themselves.

Good Luck!

It turns out that loving one’s romantic partner and loving one’s enemies is very similar, and can be effectively described by the path of a mountaineer, or a computer program: part random curiosity and part hard work that quite often hurts! Love is also the only way to grow, and find a better life, for oneself and one’s companions, whoever they happen to be, and while frustrating at times, is the only truly good option in life.

Enjoy this hearty (heh) Valentine, specially made for you, from me!
